Afecţiunile osteoarticulare şi plantele medicinale

Osteoarticular pathology includes numerous entities with various clinical pictures, explained by the diversity of functional disturbances that interest the locomotor apparatus in multiple etiological circumstances. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), in Romania, approximately 10 million inhabitants suffer from diseases of the osteoarticular system, the most common being arthrosis, arthritis, spondylosis and osteoporosis. The hectic pace of everyday life and external factors such as stress and fatigue affect our health more and more. The work is addressed equally to all readers, regardless of training or profession, having a role in increasing the quality of life, osteoarticular conditions representing the main cause of physical disability. Without claiming to have exhausted the complexity of the issues addressed, even if reference was made to the chemical composition of the plants as well as their use, we believe that the information provided is both complete and up-to-date. The final goal of the paper is for the reader to better understand the beneficial influence of these medicinal plants, through their therapeutic action on the osteoarticular system.
