Their knowledge has been a permanent preoccupation of people since ancient times, from the empirical period of the sciences when nature was the only supplier of cures. Plants have always had an essential role in people's lives both from a nutritional, aesthetic, symbolic and mystical point of view, meeting their physiological and spiritual needs, as well as from a scientific and therapeutic point of view, being used in physical and mental ailments.
