About this book
Critical opinions: The Esther volume (…) remains deeply attached to mythological, biblical-testamentary symbols. Without being a beatification of the character with this name from the Jewish Bible - the Book of Esther - or a duplicitous claim, of imitation in the mirror, Denisa Crăciun shifts the focus from the biblical character - a rare Jewish beauty, chosen as a wife by the Persian king Artaxerxes - to her deeds. Our poet prefers an image in which one can pose: Esther instills in her the "missionary" assumption of a role (the queen saving the Jewish people from death), that of speaking in defense of the people of poets - "To search in a book/ deeds/ not of apostles but the deeds of the word/ through its pages..." (Search pre-walk). Esther, through the symbol she won, builds a new meaning for her life, personalized, through an inner energy, with which the poet fights for the salvation of poetry... George Vulturescu The musicality of the elegiac and confessional tone always accompanied by a postmodern everyday freedom of the writing means that in the poems of Denisa Crăciun we hear a special voice in the contemporary lyrical landscape. A poem about a discreet forgiveness, about the night in the middle of the day, about the poet's talent for deciphering the meaning hidden in the vestiges of the present, about the dreams she had under the laurel of Zavaidoc grown from the seed of a Yggdrasil with Zamolxian roots. It seems that through the poems of the volume with names of Persian origin (meaning at the same time "myrtle", "bride" or "star") we discern the voice of a great-poet of the Old Mother of long ago, Gaia - the goddess of the Hearth of our souls.
