About this book
Camil Poenaru, real name Constantin Moțățianu, was born on 06.10.1927 in Poiana Mare - Dolj and died in Craiova on 25.06.1999. In 1977, he published the collection of poems Earth and flowers at Scrisul Românesc Publishing House and in 1980 the literary collection Wings in the light (Biblioteca County Dolj - "Eugen Constant" Literary Cenacle) together with Florin Logreșteanu. This year, his daughter Monica Berglund begins editing his rich poetic creation left in manuscript, publishing the volume "Love Poems" (Ed. Aius, 2023). Curating this edition of the book, Monica Berglund continues her admirable effort to recover not only the memory but also the poetry of her father with a second volume of poems expressively titled Between Mirrors. Not by chance, the book opens with two poems written by the young poet Johan Sebastian and dedicated to his grandfather, which once again shows us the genetic continuity of the lyrical thrill that has been passed down over several generations. There is in the spiritual DNA of the family this impulse to see the world and feel through the filter of one's own poetic sensibility: we could say that Camil Poenaru's talent is reflected in the poetry of Monica Berglund, who in turn passed the "baton" on to her son.
