The Logic of St. John Damascene, translated by Bishop Kir Grigore (Râmniceanu), in 1826, is the first logic that appeared in the "language of the motherland", representing an exceptional contribution to the establishment of philosophical and logical terminology in Romanian culture. This is where the first lexicon in our language appears. G. Râmniceanu links the line of scholar-bishops from Râmnic to the Gh. Lazarus School, making a decisive step for the foundation of Romanian philosophical thought.
