Poet Monica Berglund has collected in this volume the love poems that her father, Camil Poenaru, dedicated over the years to the woman he was in love with and who kept them sacredly for years. In the preface of the book, the poet's muse bears the name of the goddess of hunting and chastity from the Roman pantheon (Daiana), and perhaps this is not accidental: the poems contained in this volume are of a candor and purity of love that we only find in ancient poets or the most distinguished romantics. On the one hand, in biographical and narrative terms, we witness a gradual unfolding of the love story from the initial phase of the first premonition (the poem Daiana mea), to the navigator on the seas of longing (the poem Puiul meu...), to the one who glimpses the angelic pose of the beloved (Cum ai oscet?...) or contemplates the statuary beauty of the muse (Statue) or becomes intoxicated with the almost musical sensuality which the presence of the beloved woman (Violina) emanates. On the other hand, beyond some biographical details of the love story that evoke encounters or "combinations of words" (Ca sa nu mire fim two), the intensity of the erotic experience is what captures the poems and gives them a special charm.
