Videologie

It seems to me that the time in which we live is marked by the meaning of this word, which does not yet exist in the Romanian language... which, perhaps, will not exist either. He is absolutely not original. It was used before, also as a title, if I'm not mistaken, but in another language. Anyway, it seems that he stubbornly sticks in my mind. IDEOLOGY is a form of intellectual dictation in which we have the opportunity to feel insecure (even if only by thinking). That apparently! It is a truth reduced to a slogan - a truth that is presented to us, or we present it to ourselves, through megaphones outside or inside us. VIDEO - is the newest art, very interesting in my opinion, and - at the same time - can be as embarrassing as other forms of art, when they are embarrassing, by the means with which it manipulates. vIDEOLOGY – with the spelling on/by which I tried to suggest it – is therefore the union of the two categories VIDEO and IDEOLOGY – and not video‑logy, i.e. any science of the image or the realization of image capture. Through this gathering I tried to suggest the quality of the world we live in, a world varying minor between originality and cliché, varying according to our capacity to be curious, to be attentive, to be, so! Things change - diabolically, a man from another time would say - taking advantage of our inattention, taking advantage of the volume at which we allow things to be presented to us, of the insistence with which this presentation is made to us, of the fatigue that has already seized us when they are presented to us, of the obsessions formed in our minds - taking advantage of the inattentive fatigue that has seized us. IDEOLOGY seems to be a science based on a single idea, or a single set of ideas. In no time it turns out to appear to be a science, it turns out to be a staging of an idea. A staging that some people find interesting, others don't even look at it, and others find it dangerous to express themselves towards it. VIDEO - is a prefixoid, a false prefix. It is called so because it has meaning both alone and in the context in which it is composed, it is therefore the root of a family of words, but also a word in itself. The word is full, powerful, expressing a multiplicity of meanings. Through its repetition - to the point of saturation or beyond, - it - like any word used too much - has become trivial, refusing to carry us with the thought of video art and taking us to the - far too often - boring realms of the video clip. (Who knows, maybe this even gives it the whole meaning). LOGOS – Term that defines the cosmos but also thinking in its entirety, the great speech, the appearance, the image of God, the reason according to which everything settles and orders the spirit.
