About this book

Madda Holda (pseudonym of Magdalena Binder, b. September 4, 1911, Dorohoi - d. 2012, Bucharest) is an avant-garde writer, framed by literary criticism (like Moldov, Ionathan X. Uranus, Victor Valeriu Martinescu or Jacques G. Costin) among Urmuz's epigones. She collaborated on Unu magazines (where four of the five texts republished here appeared), led by her brother - Saşa Pană, and on XX - contemporary literature. Madda Holda is the author of a single volume of texts entitled Business Cards and published, in 1931, in an édition hors commerce at the Unu Publishing House in Bucharest. As it is an "out of stock" edition, Maddei Holda's book is practically unknown to the reading public since the year of its publication, except for the narrow circle of avant-gardists grouped around Unu magazine. Practically, the current edition resumes both the volume republished after 86 years, as well as the fragments from Bogza's diary that refer to Magdalena Binder, plus a new foreword by Vladimir Pană.
