Prepared in compliance with all the rigors of the discipline, the work opens with an evocation, in the context of the era, of the family of donors Alexandru and Aristia Aman, followed by an introductory study that presents the circumstances of the creation of the collection and its subsequent enrichment, thanks, above all, to the passion and skill of the director of the Foundation and founder of the Oltenia Museum today, Professor Ştefan Ciuceanu, each piece of the collection being presented in part, using the descriptive method associated with determination according to the most modern international catalogs. Some pieces are unique, while others are catalog rarities. The 48 ancient Greek coins (gold and silver), 249 Geto-Dacian coins (gold and silver), 183 Roman republican coins (silver) and 275 Roman imperial coins (gold and silver) are described, according to international standards. 100 plates, in color and black and white, give a double-sided image of the 755 gold and silver pieces from the "Aman Collection". The scientific information is supplemented with data on the circulation area of ​​the coins, the issuing mint workshops, the list of magistrates, issuers and co-issuers, the list of abbreviations, a glossary and a rich bibliography. The Addenda completes the body of the work with the wills of the generous donors, with their photos, of the museum and the library founded by the Foundation, various documents.
