About this book

The Cosmodicea volume. Etica repetitia was written by the Romanian thinker between the years (1935-1955), in Bucharest and is divided into five parts, according to the Spinozist Ethics model. Cosmodicea is rightly considered the "philosophical testament" left by Brucăr to Romanian philosophy. He understands by Cosmodicea "the need to exonerate ourselves from sin only in the case of Adamic knowledge". The Romanian philosopher distinguishes two types of knowledge: Promethean, Socratic and technical knowledge of the world and Adamic, mystical and ethical knowledge. The first, the Promethean knowledge is par excellence Hellenic and Indo-European, the ethical knowledge of the Jews, the second, the Adamic knowledge is a Jewish knowledge. This, unlike scientific knowledge, is in harmony with the cosmic nature and the naturalness of man, being the only one that can enthrone a tolerant and non-discriminatory ethics, "an ethos that does not measure, that does not count, that does not weigh or fragment but, on the contrary, understands and loves".
