...We note with sadness that the "spirit of the holiday" itself leaves a lot to be desired in our days... From where, in the past, Sunday came with its air of celebration, with the sacred fragrance of man's joy in being in communion with himself, with his peers and with God, gradually, gradually, it entered the series of ordinary days, even for the country man... And we remember with wonder how, in many of our villages, the locals they sit at the gates and at the corners of the streets, and only here and there, an old man or an old woman sneaks discreetly with a flower in hand towards the open doors of their large and empty churches... Other times, the children and grandchildren from the city come to help the old people with the work in the fields... And, instead of teaching the young people to also have respect and propriety for the "order" of the holiday, they go out to work together like a people without God. How can young people respect their elders, if they see that they no longer know any law, any order, any tradition? Therefore, from the celebration, man must know how to make use of it... Otherwise, having become a simple ornament, the celebration weakens and dies, it becomes a weekend... "Lord, help us to be able to grasp your saving truth with our minds and hearts in order to find ourselves again in the spirit of the celebration and to enjoy the Day of Your Resurrection!"
