Într-o seară, de vară, o vioară cânta

Starting from a double execution - the exceptional one of a piece of music, on the violin, prelude to the event that shook an entire city, and the one, no less exceptional, of a fellow citizen, amateur violinist, victim of a "State" plot, under the cover of justice -, a gifted child on the threshold of the life that was opening before him, little by little, comes to discover both the world of music and the real world around him. It is also the opportunity to begin the initiation into the surprising technique - the only one capable of ensuring the survival of both ordinary people and those in power - of dissimulation, valid in music as well as in everyday life. Schumann used to say: "Chopin hid cannons under flowers in his mazurkas", in the same way, this idyllic image perhaps hid a more tragic reality. Everyone has heard the Piano Sonata no. 14, "A Lunii", especially its first movement. Adagio sostenuto, the pinnacle of "romanticism", but few people know that - according to Beethoven's own confession, made to the violinist Karl Holz -, he composed it at the behest of a deceased friend, in other words, as a "funeral march"...
