Pr. IOAN IOANICESCU - Born on October 1, 1939 in Ioanicesti - Argeş. He graduated from the Theological Seminary in Craiova (1959), the Faculty of Theology in Bucharest (1963), and the doctoral courses also in Bucharest (1978). He worked as a guide and deacon at the Curtea de Argeş Monastery (1963-1966) and as a parish priest at the Topliţa-Argeş Parish, 1966-1973. After being transferred to the Diocese of Craiova, he worked as a parish priest in Bucovăţ - Dolj (1973-1974), serving priest at the Metropolitan Cathedral and editor of the magazine "Mitropolia Olteniei" (1974-1978), Archpriest in the Oltean plain of the Danube, based in Băileşti (1978-1987), Archpriest in Craiova-Sud (1987-2001), diocesan councilor (2001-2003). By the way, he carried out didactic activity at the Faculty of Theology in Craiova, at the department of Liturgical Theology (1992-2004). He was a diocesan deputy and a member of the diocesan council for two decades. Over the years, he also carried out a fruitful cultural activity, publishing articles, specialized studies, sermons, panegyrics, reports, reviews, etc. He presented communications at various inter-confessional meetings, at symposia; debates and interviews on Radio Oltenia, Radio Logos and Radio Trinitas. Ranks received: "Iconom Stavrofor" (1978), "Patriarchal Cross" (1996) and "St. Nicodim's Cross" (1999).
