The real knowledge of the phenomenon of massive "Turkification" of Romanian writers and intellectuals after the act of August 23, 1944 - with their regimentation in the army of singers of the "achievements" of the realist-socialist and communist regime of Oriental-Soviet inspiration (some in the role of first soloists or even conductors: Sadoveanu, G. Călinescu, Al Rosetti, Traian Săvulescu, etc.) a recovery and an analysis without parts political prices, on this poisoned canvas, of the work of the few non-adherents or resisters, on the one hand; high order, the restitution of the literature of the anti-communist political exile, with the inventory and careful study of its major cultural treasure (books, publications, libraries, academies, foundations, archives, yearbooks, symposia and conferences, correspondence and unpublished journals, etc., etc.) are the only viable ways, today, to discuss, understand and correctly evaluate the rich creative spirit of the modern Romanian cultural elites, makers and responsible for the cultural and intellectual status of the country. This more than necessary approach which, unfortunately, has not yet become, after almost three and a half decades since the Revolution, a reflex act in the exercise of everyday literary and intellectual life, in the current activity of institutions with attributions in the field, will have to be aimed not only at the permanent refreshment and revitalization of our cultural-historical memory, but also at the effort to define ourselves spiritually, fully justified and honorable, in the new European habitat.
