The work of Marin Preda. Current events, which includes the literary chronicles published during the years 2015-2022, on the sidelines of some books about the writer. It represents the last piece in the "trilogy" that I dedicated to him, at the Centenary, along with the volumes: Marin Preda. The years of intellectual formation (1929‑1948), third edition, revised and added (2022), Marin Preda. Biobibliography, vol. I-II (2022). Next to this "trilogy" I added the care of the Marin Preda collective volume. Man and Opera at the Centenary (2022). Marin Preda's work remains singular in contemporary Romanian literature, as it is based on a system of ethical values ​​and proposes a morality that integrates freedom of spirit and respect for fundamental values, starting from the traditional perspective, circumscribed to the context of contemporary civilization, man and history being in fact its essential dimensions. On the other hand, the complexity of Marin Preda's work must be circumscribed in relation to the social, political and cultural context in which it was built, because - there is no doubt - if he had lived in other times, perhaps his writing career would have been different. What is indubitable is the fact that, by the proportions and value of his creation, Marin Preda is one of the classics of contemporary Romanian literature, which, although he has a difficult posterity, will not stop attracting the attention of readers and critics, causing both admiration and controversy (the phrase "Preda complex" will somehow retain its relevance for quite some time), which means that his work will not, however, be forgotten or treated with indifference. Through its intrinsic structure and its literary and aesthetic value, even if not in absolute unity, Marin Preda's work also has the indestructible ability to revive interest at any time.
