About this book

In the evolution of Ştefan Velovan's philosophical thinking, we distinguish two stages: the first stage (1872-1875) when he studied philosophy, logic and natural sciences in Vienna, and the second stage (1875-1876), when he trained as a psychologist and pedagogue at the University of Gotha in Germany. He presented his philosophical conception in several works and studies, among which we mention: Intellectuality as an essential note of aesthetic and moral pleasure (1887); The relationship between science and art, in "Literary Conversations" (1887); Types of sensations, perceptions and ideas. Notions of time and space, in "Methodical questions" (1920). In philosophy, Ştefan Velovan is a follower of an inductive realism, that is, a reasoning from the particular to the general.
