It seems important to me to rethink eminesculogy from the perspective of the history of Romanian literary criticism. Between the two there is an inextricable reciprocity. The history of eminescence only makes sense when seen in the context of the history of Romanian literary criticism, just as the history of Romanian literary criticism reveals its reliefs better if we first follow the thread of the history of Eminescu's reception. Let's observe, in diachrony, the stages of the establishment and expansion of eminiscology. Each one reflected, in the dramatic reliefs of the permanent exchange of lines, what was essential in the process of the formation and analytical specialization of Romanian literary criticism. Practically, all the ideational and operational gains of autochthonous criticism in terms of reading keys, concepts, methods were applied first, if not indeed they proceeded from Eminescu's research, always under the sign of the experiment subject to critical judgment within the community of interpreters.
