Poet, essayist and translator, Anca Șerban (b. 1988) has published two volumes of poems: Cineva di afara lumii (2018) and Luna cu un ochi ochitar (2022). She is constantly present with poems in literary periodicals in the country. "This volume shows the extent to which the editing of the epistolary corpus resulting, over time, between the correspondence between Paul Celan, Ingeborg Bachmann and Max Frisch, on the one hand, and between Emil Cioran, Friedgard Thoma, Maria Zambrano and Simone Boué, on the other, could arouse the interest of the reading public, being the most frothy and sensational part. These biographical background elements are certainly relevant, when you want to reconstruct the raw material - that is, the motivations, the indignations, the curiosities, the desires, in general all the emotional reactions - from which Celan's or Cioran's letters were filled, both captives of rather inhibiting civil existences, but also prisoners of their own reluctance and conveniences, which, taken together, leave them too little freedom to be their own sovereigns in the erotic plane or in the manifestation of cultural identity."
