Marin Preda. Anii formării intelectuale

The volume "Marin Preda. Years of intellectual formation (1929-1948)" (second edition, revised and added) includes essential studies for a better understanding of the personality of the writer Marin Preda, which look at a stage of almost 20 years of his life, perhaps the most intense and disturbing, namely his school years - in Siliștea Gumești, as a primary school student (19291937), at Abrud, in the first year as a normal student (19371938), in Cristur, in the most important years as a normal student (19381940), and in Bucharest, in the last year as a student in the lower cycle of normal school (19401941) -, the years of his publishing debut (19411943, with his absolute debut and true literary debut as a prose writer, at the "Timpul" newspaper, in 1942), the years the military service (19431945) and the years of literary affirmation (19451948, with the avatars up to the debut volume, with "The Meeting from the Lands", in 1948). In essence, the work represents a parallel "reading" of the autobiographical novel "Life as a Prey", calling on archival documents, on the writer's confessions and short prose and novels, on the evocations of schoolmates and writers, but also on the reference bibliography, being accompanied by a rich photo-documentary album, including documents, facsimiles and photographs, mostly unpublished, which duplicate the information from the studies. The volume has 486 pages of text and 172 plates with illustrations, including an index of names and an index of names.
