Jean-Jacques Wunenburger is professor emeritus at the Université "Jean Moulin", Lyon 3, doctor honoris causa of the University of Craiova, disciple of Gilbert Durand, founder of the Center "Gaston Bachelard" at the University of Bourgogne in Dijon, the initiator of several research centers of the imaginary in Europe, America and Asia, president of the "Association des Amis de Gilbert Durand", president of CRI2i. Jean-Jacques Wunenburger is one of those postmodern philosophers who, along the lines of the founding fathers of the notion of the imaginary (Gaston Bachelard, Gilbert Durand, Henry Corbin and Mircea Eliade), open a new perspective in the understanding of figurative thinking today.
